Terms of service
Last updated 7 November 2026
The short version
Businesses use Monthly to bill their customers every month. Monthly collects those payments with the customer’s approval, reminds customers before each charge, retries failed payments, and takes 0.5% of each payment that succeeds.
For businesses
- You start in test mode. Live mode opens once we’ve verified your business, and we may ask for documents to do it.
- You decide your plans, prices and trials. A price change applies to new subscribers only.
- You must describe what you sell honestly, deliver it while a subscription is paid, and handle your customers’ questions about it.
- Keep your secret API keys on your servers. Anything done with your keys is treated as done by you.
- Monthly’s fee is 0.5% of each successful payment, rounded per payment. It is returned in the same share when you refund.
- We may suspend an account that breaks the law, these terms, or puts customers at risk.
For subscribers
- When you subscribe, you agree to be charged the plan’s price on each renewal date until you cancel.
- We’ll remind you a day before each charge. MoMo payments need your approval each time.
- If a renewal fails, we try again 1, 3 and 5 days later, then pause the subscription. You can pay to resume it.
- You can pause, cancel now, or cancel at the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Refunds are decided by the business you paid, and go to your Monthly credits.
- Monthly credits are worth GHS 1 each and pay for subscriptions on Monthly. They aren’t a bank deposit.
Our part
We work hard to keep Monthly running and your money moving, but payment networks and providers sometimes fail. We aren’t responsible for what a business sells you, and our responsibility to a business is limited to the fees it paid us in the last three months, except where the law doesn’t allow that limit.
Changes and contact
We’ll tell businesses by email before changing these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. Questions: hello@usemonthly.app.
